Frances followed a fairly traditional route into legal practice, studying for her bachelors and masters degrees in law at Oxford University. However, following a painful realisation about the working hours legal practice entailed, she moved to the Netherlands and specialised in macro economic research. She returned to the world of law through the Rechtwijzer project, designing and building online legal processes for Dutch, British and Canadian citizens. She currently works for Clocktimizer, and manages Women in Legal Tech and the Hague chapter of Legal Hackers. In her spare time she acts as a mentor for legal tech startups across the globe.
