Ainura Alymbekova is Access to Justice Project Manager with UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic since 2014. An important achievement of the project was introduction of free legal aid (FLA) for civil and administrative cases into the new law “On the state guaranteed legal aid”, to provide access to justice for the most vulnerable groups of population, while in the previous version, FLA was provided only on criminal cases. With support of the project, the Law on ratification of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (UN CRPD) was submitted to the Parliament and adopted in the first reading in December 2018.
Ainura has hands-on experience in project and program development, management and implementation with more than 15 years with UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic working on different development projects related to justice, democratic governance, disaster risk reduction, peace building and others.
Awarded by the Ministry of Emergencies medal for strengthening of civil-military cooperation and Ministry of Justice medal for cooperation.
